It has taken me over four years to complete this biography of my dear brother Fernando Marcelino Camino and now it is finally ready for publication. I have read parts of it to friends and been heartened that the book seems to communicate the warmth and friendliness of his personality and the non-stop tears and laughter that mark Fernando's lifetime of adventure. The book also highlights important periods in Fernando's life such as his world travels as a young child, his years at Palo Verde High in Tucson, Arizona, his time as manager of the El Torito restaurant (while at the same time attending the UofA in Tucson) and the summers spent in Kootenay Lake, Canada. I have also added two sections of photographs, letters and all of the Memorial Messages that were posted to his online guest book. Hopefully the book will be welcomed by family and friends alike. Every life has a story, but this one really touched me in so many ways. I normally am not a book reader i.e. sit down to read a book. I found myself engaged to where I could not put the book down. I found myself connected in so many ways to the Camino childhood upbringing. I highly recommend that everyone read this biography to see the good, the bad and the ugly. This book should give us hope that something good can come out of tragedy. I also suggest/recommend that this book be made into a movie.
I think the book did a great job of capturing Fernando's incredible life and love of family and friends. He was my best friend and mentor and we were closer than most brothers. I was shocked about how much I didn't know. This book is a lot of fun and very entertaining! Fernando touched so many lives that I'm surprised this isn't a best seller.
As the Founder of MAMAs On A Mission, I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a family member struggling with addiction. Not only does the addict suffer from the devastating effects of substance abuse, their family and friends become just as broken as they helplessly watch their loved one die a slow and very painful spiritual, emotional and physical death.
This book reveals the absolute truth about the trials and tribulations of addiction. I commend the Author for sharing his painful experiences with his audience. It is stories like these that show families they are not alone. And, it is stories like these that inspire me to continue to fight the fight. Alfonso, thank you for opening up your heart and letting us in.

It's a fun, easy to ready compilation of AMAZING true family stories that kept me hanging to it without being able to put it down.
The life of the main character (Fernando) is honored in a most genuine way and with such a high level of honesty that is both moving and motivating while keeping the feet on the ground. It makes honor to that saying "Real life over exceeds fiction".
I totally recommend this book to anyone who has had addiction in their families or knows someone with addiction problems. It shines light in a topic that is still taboo in many societies and it does so mixed in with some of the most hilarious stories I've read.
Wonderful book that is a true reflection of what love and admiration are.

A great and revealing bography done by his brother Alfonso. Fernando was not one to share the hard times he had gone thorugh to become the man he was. His interest was always genuine and focused on the person he was with and how he could help them. The biography helps to explain where much of his character, drive and devotion to friends and family came from. Fernando alway lit up the room with laughter and sunshine. You could not help but have a smile on your face and your day lifted if you spent any time with him. This book was a good, blunt and at times a bare naked revealing representation of his life and the struggle he and his family overcame to become citizens in the USA. The tenacity he had to move forward with such positive energy and a zest for life was truly rare. Frenando was a special friend to so many. He influenced hundreds of people over the course of his life and will be truly missed. Thank you so much ALfonso for this work of respect and love for your brother.
